I have a gift certificate, but when I add it at checkout it says it's not valid. Why?

The most common problem is that customers add their gift certificate codes in the coupon area. A gift certificate isn't a coupon and the system will not recognize it. To cash in a gift certificate, you need to select 'Gift Certificate' as your payment method, the same as you would do at checkout for any other payment method (credit card, Paypal, etc.). Once you do, there will be an area come up to enter your code.
